Deadline to Return “Vote by Mail” Ballots by Canada Post is October 15, 2026
Municipal Election Day in Ontario is Monday, October 26, 2026.
The Municipality of Temagami will be using a “Vote By Mail” format. There are several ways to get your vote counted.
- If you are on the Voters’ List, you should have already received a “Vote by Mail” kit by standard mail. The deadline to return your ballot by Canada Post is October 15, 2026 to ensure your vote is counted on Election Day. Any ballots received by/at the Municipal Office after 8:00 p.m. on Election Day will not be eligible votes.
- The Municipal Office located at 7 Lakeshore Drive, Temagami, Ontario shall, during normal office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), serve as the Advance Ballot Return Station.
- The Municipality of Temagami will also hold an “Advanced Poll” on Saturday October 17, 2026 at 7 Lakeshore Drive, Temagami, Ontario from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- The Election Day In-Person and Drop-Off Poll on October 26th, 2026 will be located at the Municipal Office, 7 Lakeshore Drive (West Entrance), Temagami, Ontario from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
If you choose to vote in person, please bring your “Vote By Mail” kit with you. If you do not have a kit and/or are not on the Voters’ List, you can be added with the appropriate identification, and a paper ballot will be provided to you.
What do I need to be eligible to vote?
To be eligible to vote, you must meet the qualifications of electors as listed in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, s.17(2).
A person is entitled to be an elector in the Municipality of Temagami, if on voting day, they meet all the following conditions:
- A Canadian citizen;
- At least 18 years old;
- A resident, owner or tenant of land in the Municipality of Temagami, or the spouse of such tenant or owner;
- Not prohibited from voting under any law.
