“Temagami Shoreline Clean-Up Challenge” 2025 Ends on August 31, 2025
The Temagami Lakes Association (TLA) invites anyone who resides on, or enjoys, Lake Temagami and other area lakes to participate in the “Temagami Shoreline Clean-Up Challenge”. The challenge ends on August 31, 2025 – so, we encourage year-round and seasonal residents, as well as visitors, to seek out and collect trash that is in the water or lying on mainland or island shorelines, as soon as possible.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the summer season in these categories:
(a) Most Trash Collected
(b) Most-Unique Piece of Trash
(c) Oldest Piece of Trash
(d) Most-Useful Piece of Trash
(e) Largest Piece of Trash
(f) Each Child Participant Receives a Prize
… and there is also a Bonus Prize for the “Most Entries Submitted”.
Please dispose of all items appropriately, and e-mail a photo(s) of your trash-collection efforts to the TLA at tla@onlink.net by August 31st. Let’s help to keep Lake Temagami, and all area lakes and shorelines, trash free!!
Check out some more efforts of our youth participants …
Once again, Cora (10) and Georgia (6) did some deep diving and collected 29 pieces of sunken trash – a record for them !
Aubree (11), Jillian (7), and Declan (5) pick up multiple pieces of shoreline trash.
Suzie – with grandchildren, Tommy, Max, and Jack – show the trash collected from a small island near High Rock. There is one beautiful tree on the island (Suzie’s late husband’s favourite tree), so they went there and picked up trash to honour him.
Riley and Ellie collect trash for a second year in a row!
