2025 Sees Another Successful “Temagami Shoreline Clean-Up Challenge”
The Temagami Lakes Association (TLA) spearheaded a third “Temagami Shoreline Clean-Up Challenge” in the Summer of 2025 for anyone residing on, or enjoying, Lake Temagami and other area lakes.
The challenge received 35 entries (20 of which were from children) and encouraged residents and visitors alike to retrieve trash from the waters and shorelines of Temagami-area lakes.
Great prizes were awarded in the following categories:
(a) $100.00 gift certificate from Blooms ‘N Loons for Sean – winner of the “Most Trash Collected” category
(b) $50.00 gift certificate from Loon Lodge for France – winner of the “Most-Unique Piece of Trash” category
(c) $50.00 Walmart gift card, ball cap, and tote bag from Temagami Marine for Paul – winner of the “Oldest Piece of Trash” category
(d) $50.00 gift certificate from Northland Traders for Laurel – winner of the “Most-Useful Piece of Trash” category
(e) $100.00 gift certificate from Blooms ‘N Loons for the Tamburro Family – winner of the “Largest Piece of Trash” category
(f) $50.00 Walmart gift card, ball cap, and tote bag from Temagami Marine for Luca – who submitted the most entries
In the Children’s category, each participant received a t-shirt from either the Friends of Temagami or the TLA. We thank Jake, Emma, Parker, Evelyn, Tommy, Max, Jack, Ellie, Riley, Cora, Georgia, Declan, Jillian, Aubree, Elliot, Seija, Lila, Alexa, and Max # 2 for the great job in helping to keep area lakes and shorelines trash free.
Many thanks to everyone who entered the contest and improved the state of Temagami-area lakes by collecting trash. We hope that everyone will continue with this initiative year round.
