“Special Council Meeting” to Fill Vacant Seat (Monday, September 11, 2023)

A Message to Council:

The Temagami Municipal Council is meeting on Monday, September 11th to fill the position vacated by Barret Leudke. Further details (including Zoom login information) will be posted as they become available on the Municipal website.
At least one of the applicants is a Lake Temagami seasonal resident … Andrew Zyp
Occupation: Andrew is a lawyer and partner with Stewart, Esten LLP in Barrie. His practice focuses on corporate, commercial, estate, and real estate law.
Additional Education:
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering
  • Master Business Administration (MBA)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1
Community Activities:
  • Temagami Environmental Research and Stewardship (TERAS) Board Member
  • TLA Member
  • Proud Rotarian
Consider these facts:
  • 961 of 1,346 Temagami residences are seasonal. (723 are on Lake Temagami.)
  • Seasonal rate payers contribute approximately 76% of the residential tax revenue.
  • 0 seasonal residents are currently on Council.
Surely a very qualified seasonal resident with Andrew’s skill set would be the wise and logical choice to fill the vacant council position. We will see.
Please share.

Paul Tamburro

TLA President
