Candidates for Temagami Municipal Election (Monday, October 24, 2022)

 

Who can be a Candidate in the Temagami Municipal Election on October 24, 2022?
A Candidate must be:
  • a resident of the municipality, or a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the municipality (or the spouse of such non-resident owner or tenant);
  • a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years-old;
  • not legally prohibited from voting, and not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office.

A candidate requires 25 signatures on a nomination form and must pay a fee of $100 ($200 for mayor).

In Ontario municipal elections, candidates are not elected to represent a political party.

Temagami Special Council Meeting: Tuesday, April 5, 2022 (6:30 p.m.)

 

THE PURPOSE of this meeting of Council is to possibly discuss items in Closed Session as permitted by Section (239) of the Municipal Act. 2001, as amended, in order to address matters pertaining to:

(2) (b) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees regarding to waive an application to amend a zoning by-law fee

(2) (f) advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications
necessary for that purpose regarding property investigation

(3) (a) a request under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy
Act, if the council, board, commission or other body is the head of an institution for the
purposes of that Act regarding Municipal Freedom of Information request received
